I recently purchased a 1986 Honda Shadow VT1100. It has an Engine Temp Gauge, and a Fuel Level Gauge on the gas tank. The fuel gauge lights up, however the needle does not move. Does anyone happen to know what could cause this? I'm slowly learning how to work on these, but do not have the mechanical inclination to remove the gas tank or check for an internal tank sensor. Is this a known issue? Any help would be appreciated!

Seems like I remember that it IS an issue with the sending unit in the tank, usually that is.

With a shop manual and a meter it should be an easy check.
Shop cost to test and estimate $$$ should not run over $50, I would think.
Hope the trip ODO works because my prediction is that you will be using it as a "gas gauge" in the future, meaning that it probably won't be worth the cost to fix.

Pray for a loose wire. :bluethum:

P.S. There isn't a huge amount of traffic on here and I think most everybody looks at ALL of the new posts.......so posting your problem or question just ONCE should be good enough.
