Hello Motorcycle Forums!

I'm in the midst of reviving this GS550 from the dead and any help regarding fuel line routing is appreciated.

All the fuel lines literally crumbled in my hands before i could make some notes and I'm having trouble locking down info regarding exactly how the fuel lines were routed.

Using the Suzuki GS550L Carburetor Diagram, where do hoses 59 and 60 connect to? I guessed petcock and main fuel but I feel I may be wrong. Also, on the number 1 carb there is a port on the inside right in the middle of the body of the carb not shown here. Is this the carb vent? (I have the airbox breather tube to engine correct I believe. Does the pipe (58) do anything besides hold the carbs together? It doesn't send fuel does it?

The engine was seized but I was able to unstick it. The tank was so rusty I am having to reline it. But! it wasn't all cut up, everything was there.

Any help regarding the fuel lines is greatly appreciated. I'd be glad to post an update here and maybe it'll help some otheres with this set up.

Thank you!

In the diagram they appear to fit on to a nipple just below the top cap of the left hand carb...one is slightly in front of the other. I suspect one will be a fuel line and the other a vacuume port to provide vacuum to the fuel valve. The fuel valve will have a nipple, typicaly to the rear of the valve...also the line is a different dia to the fuel line.

The length of the lines will indicate where they go to....if one is fairly long it may be a float bowl breather. Finding out what the two nipples in the diagram do or where they go will help identify their purpose and thus where the lines need to go.

Hope this helps....good luck
