I was at the fire station the other night and took the bike to work, when I strolled past it in the apparatus bay and remembered, I've seen a few bikes with the fuel tank stickers removed, and it looked sharp. There I went, trying to peel the tank sticker off....not an easy task at ALL  . I worked at it for about an hour and didn't even make a 25% dent in it's removal. I had to purchase this product called sticker shock, which in conjunction with plastic razor blades, made my life much easier. I am pleased to announce that the two sticker are off, and my paint is blemish fee. The moral of the story is that, after the fact, those two stickers in the chin indentation, on the GSXR fuel tank, weren't ment to come off easy.

Just went throught he same thing on my Volusia. Some WD-40 and a bit of determination. Oh yeah, and the healing rays of the sun to warm things up. Now my Volusia is sticker free and shiny.

Yeh I tried the WD-40 and just didn't have the patience. I have an autobody supply wholesaler right down the street, so I gave them a call and they hooked me up!

did the wd-40 hurt your finish?

WD-40 will not harm your finish. WD-40 works great for removing tar, sap, and hard to remove insect stains. You'll just need to re-wax the areas you treated with WD-40 when the job is complete.

Some of us just use the old thumbnail. The finish looks fine. I did wash down and waxed the bike afterward just to be sure. Plus, it looks neat all shiny and stuff.

If you contact any reputable autobody repair supplier, they'll know exactly what a plastic razor blade is, hell you can even get them at Lowe's of Home Depot. It looks exactly like a box cutter replacement razor blade, but made of, obviously plastic, with a fine edge on it. Quick and painless, and my supplier gave them to me for free.

Gas Tank Sticker

Just got 2 Suzuki S40's and was able to get the stickers off without any trouble. It was a warm day so that may have helped - it just took a bit to get a clean corner started so that you can pull the entire sticker off in one piece.

Warm day? Jeez - it was in the 90's the day I removed the sticker from my fuel tank and there was NO such thing as a clean corner. Little bastage took over half an hour using a hair dryer (the wife's) and WD40 (mine). Silly covering came off in one smooth stroke.. the actual sticker came of in smooth pieces - about 200 of them.

Greatest improvement to suzuki line up for 2005 seems to be easy to remove stickers. Last couple of years they were a pain to get off.

As many have mentioned the top layet transparent plastic would come of in one piece leaving the paper/printing/glue on the tank in one difficult to remove mush.

So Kudo's to Suzuki for the new stickers.

Orient riders head towards up position

Caution: Do not attempt to grip handle bars while juggling bowling balls

The use of fixed objects to impede the forward momentum of this motorcycle may lead to death and injury

Do not operate while under the influence of squidly peer-pressure

<okay . . . so the last one probably NEEDS to be on there>
