Gear shift adjustment

Is there a way to adjust the position of the gear changer? I have boots that I cannot get my two under the gear shifter to shift to a higher gear. Is there a way to change the position so i can get my big foot under it?

Moose what kind of bike is it? If it is the Volusia I think you can remove it and relocate higher or lower on the splines......
