i bought myself some leathers yesterday to replace the textiles and today we had a sunny day so my aim of the day was to get Mr Knee to meet Mr Road, and not be followed by Mr ***. and it was a success, at first the sound of the toe scaping floor was scary but as it was followed by the knee it made me just first time so i straightened up, however the second time it lasted longer, until by the end of the evening the knee lived on the floor for the whole roundabout, now i just need to find a left hand bend to scrub in the other side

Nice one mate!
Now you have the knee down on roundabouts you should find it a doddle on fast corners, thats where the left will go down.
Either that or go to France for the day!

Why on Earth would you set a goal of putting a knee down? It's just foolish. You're going to end up in the hospital having a beer bottle extracted.

Agreed. That kind of riding belongs on a track, not the street.

i agree with everyone that the road is not the palce to be doing this..however if you had a certain spot you wanted to ry it on, and you check the condition of the road ahead of time and were just going around and around getting lower each time, then i say congrats on accomplishing this.

i know we were doing 85 on our way up to Daytona earlier this month and on a long straight road with no side roads in the middle of the Ocala National Forrest...so i took the opportunity to hit triple digits for all of 5 seconds....dont want to do it again, wasnt the smartest thing, but is one of those things....

i mean, we are all stupid for taking the risk of ridng a motorcycle at all. noone should really be able to tell you you shouldnt do something, cause was all shouldnt be riding on 2 wheels at any speed in traffic, they should be kept on the racetrack.

i would do it on a racetrack if i had one but i dont so never mind but as you dont know the road in question i find it amazing that you can be so critical.

and stevie as for the fast corners for the left i really dotn know any that are safe and have the correct apex. i rekon we will block off a roundabout one night and just go round it the wrong way

Like I thought, whomever is riding there needs some serious work on his body position. You could make it around that corner easily at that speed without even coming close to dragging your knee.

So if that is the case, then why bother dragging it at all?

i think the reason is:

"to say that he dragged his knee!!!"

Maybe it's a british thing but getting your knee down (wherever) is one of those milestones that just needs to be passed!
+1 on that, every sportsbike rider I know has the goal of getting their knee down, even the ones who aren't stunters of any kind.
