I changed the oil and filter on the old GPz to start it up before I sell it. After that change, I waited the next day (warmer) to start it up. Pull on the choke, start it up... As before the winter, it took a few time to start up. After letting it run a few minutes like that, I remove the choke ... stall. Try again. same thing.
I finally discovered that only two of the 4 cylinders had spark. I not 100% sure but I think that one of the coils has gone. Either that or the igniter is behaving weirdly.
If I read this right, each coil has a high and low voltage. These coils are fed by the igniter (right?) and the high voltage for each was about 10.7 volts while the low was 0 for one and .5 (or something) for the other. Any ideas?
Of course, I'm VERY reluctant to put any money in it since I'm getting my SV this week this will drastically affect the selling price of the bike.
