Hi all,
first post and all that - couldn't see a similar posting on this on the forum.
my 600 failed it's mot last week due to brake pads binding. it's been stood around in the garage for a few months after a recent move. bike shop have offered to replace the seals on both front and back, but the cost is through the roof. even the suzuki parts are going to be over a hundred quid.
does anyone know of somewhere to get the parts (brake seal kits i guess) cheaper, or have some idea for remedying the problem another way? i guess if i'm going to do the calipers, i'll go for some steel hoses, so if anyone's got good advice on them too i'd be grateful.
thanks.
Paul.

I dont know of any place else you can get those seals except at suzuki. Replacing the seals is easy. You'll have to get the pistons out, either by pumping up the brakes to push em out, or using compressed air to blow them out. If you use the air, be careful, as they come out with considerable force. Once out you can see two sets of seals for each piston. Yank them out and clean out any trash you see behind them. You may be able to reuse them if not damaged. Make sure everything is super clean. When assembling use brake fluid to lubricate the pistons, they should slide in easily.
