I just finished putting a 2001 gsxr 600 back together after a friend flipped it. Well when I crank it up after about 5 seconds the engine opens wide up and I have to shut down before it blows. I checked the throttle cables and fast idle cable and those seem fine. Any idea what could cause this problem? I am new to fuel injected bikes and have no idea what to check next. The bike only has 1498 miles on it and the damage was all cosmetic so I have not replaced any engine parts or wires other than the turn signal relay.

Okay I found the problem, The throttle body was not seated so after I got it in place the bike started and ran fine for a few days and now it won't start again. After putting the bike in dealer mode i got a code of _C00,
I tried to adjust the tps but when I get it centered and tighten it back down the gauge goes from -C00 back to _C00

Will this keep the bike from starting or should I be looking into other areas?

TPS,

Using the mode selector switch, you will get _ C00 thiss indicates you have no FI codes. You will need to adjust the TPS until the middle bar is illuminated, when the unit is hot and running. The adjustment has a delay so make a small adjustment and wait 3-4 secs to see what you actually have, then lock the bolt down and make sure it does not change, also don't over tighten it. The plastic can deform from too much torque.
