Hey I havent been around that long but im noticeing a definite trend that most new people on the boards are getting gsxr 600 or even higher! and many already have them when they join the boards is this a new trend or has it been like this always?

When I started motorcycling in the early 90's you could buy 600 class sportbikes, but they were nothing like today's bikes. They were more like standards with fairings. They were actually decent beginner bikes. Not ideal, but decent.

This is a whole new trend. It's getting people killed at an alarming rate.

I've traded from a 2001 Fireblade to a 2004 GSXR600, in my humble opinion a 600 is just much more usable on the road and even when you get on a trackday they are only marginally slower.

After a beautiful sunny day, turn your TV to your local station. What you'll see is lots of MC accidents. All these sportbike rider wannabes getting into trouble.
That's why our insurance is so freakin' high!
