I just bought a used bike and want to replace the grips, but cant get the handle bar ends off without stripping the screws. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to get the ends off without stripping out the screw head? Thanks for the advice

Usually tapping the screwdriver (firmly) with a hammer, while appying torque pressure cracks it lose.

You might try a hand impact, but have the bike well braced by someone so you don't knock it over. Brace the bar end you are working with as well so the full impact is delivered to the bolt/screw.

I bought one of those 30 years ago for cracking case covers, and it still works great. I don't remember the brand, but I paid $20 for it then from my dealer.
