There's a thread on it here. Even a slight error on the part of the pilot could mean 20 mph or more. I'd say he wasn't moving that fast. What did 2WheelTuesday have to say?

How many bikes are capable of 205 mph?
Just last year MotoGP bikes started to reach those speeds. I thing the cop was too fast on the "trigger"

A CBR1000 doing 205mph.....don't think so..... regardless, gives all bikers a bad name

Oh come on now, you gotta admit that is just F'ing cool! I'd frame that ticket and hang it on the wall forever!

Disclaimer: I do not condone wreckless riding or stupid sh*t. The rider in this case, although crazy, obviously was in a remote area (plane radar, not car) and was wearing full gear.
I doubt that he actually made 205 but over 180 is not unlikely on a CBR1000F. A friend had one with a full exhaust being the only modification. He let me ride it one day and (in a remote area!) I hit 160 indicated without trying and still had plenty of throttle left.

I totally agree with Braada. Stunts are very cool, if you do them in a planned and controlled way, and don't endanger others but yourself. If this was on remote highway, with no cars around, then why not do it?

I would proudly frame that ticket!

Has any one seen this

Dangit...you stole my thunder!! :x
This happened where I'm from...Good Ole MN!!...and it happened on a ride called the Flood Run, which I usually would've participated in if I wouldn't have been nursing a bad cold!!!

The really interesting thing is that the kid is the son of a local deputy sherriff...ouch! I'm sure he probably wants to spend some time in jail to escape the wrath of his dad!!!

The State Patrol officer arrested the faster rider, 20-year-old Stillwater resident Samuel Armstrong Tilley, for reckless driving, driving without a motorcycle license -- and driving 140 miles per hour over the posted speed limit of 65 mph
And you applaud him?
DOH!! I mostly just scanned the story, "The state police arrested the faster rider, 20-year-old-Blah,blah,blah....."

That changes everything then. This moron should be taken out and severly flogged with an exhaust pipe.

No license, no insurance = no business on the road.

Showing off on a public ride-in = just plain stupid

Darwin, where are you when we need you?

1st OK you dont see any 3 wheelers around anymore right.? That is because thet were ruled too dangerous. Now those same people are protesting to make motorcycles to dangerous because of people like this jerk-off. If that happens say good bye to motorcycles. Thank god for the AMA being our voice of reason.
2nd after watching a show on the discovery channel about the 200 mph club out in white sands, this kid wasnt even close to that speed. The last guy that got the record of 236mph had a 610hp turbo. All these videos of people doing 180+mph are mostly fake. Change sprokets and your speedo will be off, mater of fact it is easy to throw one off 30mph.

Amazing how much press this stunt is getting. I actually heard an interview with the guy that clocked him on NPR this evening.

With all this press, it makes you wonder how many kids are going to get fubar'd in the coming weeks trying to top the speed. :(

the 205 time is approximate. You are how ever far up in that plane, pressing on and off on your stopwatch, and figuring your hitting it at the exact 1/4 mile distance. A little early and MY GOD THATS FAST. A little late and its still fast but not 205.... Probably closer to 195, but still insanely stupid!!
