I have been working on a problem with my Harbor Freight style hydraulic lift. I fell like a stone so I pulled it apart and made some new parts for the release mechanism, cleaned out the ram and purged the air. I used SAE 32 hydraulicc jack oil. Still goes down too fast. No leaks - what else can I try? I have ordered some SAE 46 oild off Amazon and will try - maybe thicker viscosity oil might help. I'm not sure how to dig into the ram itself and look at the ball bearing located inside the release valve... I adjusted the lowering rate (screw on LHS) tightened fully ... please anyone comment - you can on YouTube, its better there!
Thanks in advance, :oops::oops::):)(y)
