Y'know, I've witnessed this arcane art for years now and still haven't been able to duplicate it.
Hence, I bow to the wisdom and wit of my advisors.
How the HECK, do those guys get their motorcylce helmets to fasten so snug and secure-like to the back ends of their motorbikes?
No matter what I try, my helmet alway seems to kinda hang off and sway around, but I see these guys riding on the street with helmets that look as though they were glued on to the side of the tail and it drives me mad with jealousy, cos I don't know how to get my helmets to stick like that
So, someone help me before I do something rash. Please.

Sorry, I can't help ya...I always am wearing my helmet when I'm riding around.

I'll hang it from the helmet hook under the passenger seat when I'm going in someplace and don't want to bring my helmet with, and it hangs there just fine. :)

I prefer mine on my head. But when I need to take a second one, I stuff it in an expandable tank bag, or tail bag.To me they cost to much and are to valuable to have hanging off the side of the bike. Just my 2 cents.

I've got a luggage net - a helmet would stay secure under that. It's a net of bungy cords with hooks at each of the corners.

You need a sissy bar/helmet rack. ;-)

The helmet locks are different on EVERY bike. With my Ninja 500......the helmet would dangle (I couldn't take an extra helmet without a bag).

With my GSXR600, the helmet LOCKS right into place. I think your best bet may be to take a bag or perhaps get a carrying net for the rear seat. (You have a Katana right)?

The helmet locks on Hayabusas are fairly recessed so the helmet is cinched in fairly tight against the tail section and passenger seat.

NOTE: helmet locks are designed only to secure the helmet to the bike while parked and it can be very dangerous to actually ride with a spare helmet on the helmet lock.

If you need to carry a second helmet, the preferred method is to carry in in a tailbag secured to the rear seat, a properly mounted trunk (if you have one) or on the passenger seat secured with a bungee net.

I would recommend the cargo net for the passenger seat.

I'd recommend your favorite pillion wearing the helmet! It's much easier.
