Thanks for all the input. Will stay away from them... When you come down to it,, I guess trying it on for fit,, and maybe paying a bit more (local) can be better in the long run.. Again,, Thanks for the help..

Anyone out there ever heard of Jafrum Helmets??? Any knowledge on theier products,, good or bad. Looking at this helmet in particular --

I'm not the equipment guru some of these guys are, but I can tell you two things. First, there is a school of thought that if has the DOT label, it's passed at least the minimum standards and will afford you reasonable protection. Second, you get what you pay for. Just cause the shell is good doesn't mean its gonna be a comfortable helmet. No way I'd buy a helmet online unless I had actually had one just like it on my head recently and knew for a fact it fit, was comfortable, and wouldn't rock forward off my head (with helmet strapped on, pull up and forwards, back to front - a poorly fit helmet will roll right off).

You might also look here and see if there are any reviews on it...

Also, Snell is better than DOT, don't be cheap with your gourd
I've had some argue the point that, everything considered, better protection does not necessarily produce better survivability.

That being said, the following gives a good breakdown of the difference between Snell and DOT certification:

It's a must to try on a number different helmets and manafactures to see which one fits your head.

You'll be wearing this thing for hours on end, for some time to come and you really want it to be comfortable. No tight spots or excessive looseness. All helmets take a little bit to break in and they will fit your head better as the liner starts to conform to you.

Buy the best helmet you can afford. After you've found one that fits you and you like, go on the internet. It is a great place to find all kinds of deals on gear and I saved over $250 by buying my helmet (Shoei X-11) on the internet instead of the "Stealer".

One is The Helmet Shop in Daytona, they have great deals on the internet and I've bought several helments from them. Great service and fast delivery. http://www.helmetshop.com

Another one is http://www.DiscountMotorcycleHelmet.com

And www.MAW.com (motorcycle accessories warehouse) Order a catalogue as it's hard to find what you want on the site.

There are tons of other places to get it as well, so do a search on motorcycle helmets and cruise thru them, to get your best price.

If you or someone else is looking for a cruiser helmet, I have a like new Silver HJC AC-2 with reflective graphics from http://www.reflectivedecals.com/, I have the Flames and the Eagles on it. It's an XXL to fit my oval shaped head. You can see what the helmet looks like at http://www.helmetshop.com/itemdesc....L2-EVEREST-3&Ic=805-586&Cc=&bMatrix=True&tpc=
