I have two options for getting an exhaust.

My buddy has a k1 GSX-R 750 with a full M4 exhaust system. He says he will take a few $$$ and swap me for my stock exhaust. He has 3 bikes and this was his track bike.

Or.....get a new Micron High Mount Yellow to Black slip-on?

No, I will not be upgrading to the 'fancy' yelow and black fur.........yet

J/K

Anyways, what would you do?

Here's my humble opinion. I like the look of the Micron and it's a good pipe. I have a Yoshimura. I didn't get it though for performance I got it for the sound. If given the choice for a yellow bike..I would get the Micron. It's a good pipe..will sound good.

Sorry, I didn't vote ...

What do you want to get out of the new exhaust? More performance, or just a better sound?

If you just want sound or looks, get the slip-ons. If you want performance, get the full system, and spend the rest of your $$$ for a Power Commander and time on a dyno.

That's what I'd do ...

Have to agree with Inspiron here. Your not telling us what your expecting. If this is your stunt bike then get a shorty. Don't remember who all makes them right now but can easily find out.

Layin Lo,

'Preciate you running this thread. I love hearing info. on exhausts, especially the slip-on/bolt-on.

I voted for the M4. But actually, I'd say go w/the Micron if you want looks cause they match any color bike.

Anyone ever heard of BOS exhausts? I think it's a british company ... ? Any experiences?

They have two slip-ons for my GSX 1400 for about $600.00, and I can get them for about $550 in eBay ... is it worth it?

Sorry about not being specific enough.

This is my 'sometimes' stunt bike.

I said I didn't want to get a full exhaust earlier cuz this bike has enough power. I am more interested in sound. Either way, I'll be getting a power commander. I was just wondering about the full exhaust (M4) cuz It will cost me a little less than the new slip-on (Micron)

I think I'm leaning towards the Micron right now.

I may still buy the M4 "just to have" it lying around.

As for the shorty, Kerker makes 'em and a few others now. But, thats a easy job to make a shorty yourself. We just cut a friend of mine (Carbon fiber Yoshi)

Thanks for all the responses so far.

Yoshimura TRS Tri-Oval Bolt-ON. I bought my, brand spankin new, in the factory box for less than 300 beans with shipping and a race baffle in it. Despite what people believe about Yoshimura, they have great products. They have incredible test data from the track, especially the Suzuki applications, which I believe, makes them the number 1 application for Suzuki. Just my opinion. I went with the bolt-on, because a GSXR 1000, does NOT need a full system for the street, I don't care what anyone says, the performance increase you are going to see is not worth the money! So you could say that I bought the pipe primarily for the sound, the stock pipe was just to quiet for me and people driving need to know you're there.

Akrapovic sounds great and gives a modest BHP rise.

Very popular here.

You know . . . one really shouldn't pick their exhaust . . . especially on a public forum. Then, asking for help in picking one's exhaust . . . well, that's just rude! :p

[EDIT: If it itches so bad you feel that you HAVE to pick it, take a bath.]

I would go with the full system over a slip-on any day. But we all know that I am always looking for more power. Aside from just the Hp increase, you lose a lot of weight which is always a good thing.
