Hello everyone,

Have broken in my C50T and took it out on the highway to see what it can do. I found that above 65 mph there is a huge increase in the vibration and the engine sounds like it is not going to hold together. I was interested in finding out if this was normal or if I have a problem with my bike. It would be very uncomfortable to travel at 75 on my bike for any long distance. I did buy the bike knowing that most of the time I would be travelling backroads and not really going faster than 65 most of the time. But I thought that I would occasionally be able to take a highway trip.

Are you sure it's motor related and not wheel alignment or suspension?

Have you had the 1st service done?

If so did you do it or the dealer?

If you did it, did you check all the bolts, as well as a fluid change?

Part of 1st service is a bolt check, along with the steering head. They will seat in (loosen), along with the engine. I remember old British Twins (BSA Triumph, etc), all the nuts were lock nuts (aircraft type), they vibrated so bad, that if you didn't have them, you were tightening once a week.
Possibly loose bolts is the only problem. Try checking the torque specs.

Have about 475 miles on mine as well, and when getting above 60 MPH, things get a lot louder and feel a bit more vibration.

I get a bit of a rattle between 60 and 65, but it always sounds to me like it's coming from the windshield. Engine sounds fine.

very little vibration even at 80mph
might wanna have a tech check it out
12 mth warranty....

Thank you for all of your input. I don't think it is suspension related or drive shaft related. I have tried accelerating to speed in each gear and the vibration appears at about 4000 rpm although it is not as bad in the lower gears. I guess the best advice is to take it into the shop this week and let them look at it. If I find anything out I will post and let you know.

Hello,
Took the C50 in to the dealer and they said the vibration is normal. So I guess I am just more sensitive to the vibration. This is the first V-Twin I have owned. I did tighten up the windsheild bolts and at least that does not rattle any more.

Say Stuart see if you can bum a short ride on another C50 just to compare.

I definitely plan on hooking up with someone who has a C50 this summer and swapping for a ride. That will certainly show me if the vibration is normal.
