I have a question. Does a front windshield really help you out on the highway and if so how big or small can a person get away with. I have a 1983 GS650L. I just need some opinions before I go out and buy one.

:scooter: embalmer, in answer to your question, yes the windshield helps. Keeps bugs off you to some extent..but then you have the problem of wind shear or turbulence( spelling), depending on set up of windshield....need to adjust for your height...on high wind days they can sometimes be a pain..especially when a semi passes you at 75 mph..on average, I really appreceiate my screen though ...is a lot of protection.... :) as far as size ,, I am not experienced enough to answer, some of the others here will give you the answers....

depends on your preference as to rather it looks stupid or not. I think the general for windshield size is suppose to be right about the bridge of nose or eybrows when seated in your normal position. Mine is 21" above the headlight. A little large but I can still look over it if I need to.
