Its been about almost 2 weeks since my other orginal post.

Just letting my friends out there that are starting off wheeliing such as me. I am hitting my balance point about 8 out of 10 times. Haven't gotten it down to balance it and ride it out. I hit the point, let off the gas, but I usually close it un attentionally and the the front wheel drops.
*Sigh*
I know I will get it, I am still practicing a little more @ a time. But I am fluent in bringing the tire off the ground when ever I want, as long as I am in first gear.

Curious on how you other guys are doing that I was posting with.

From what I have read, stoppies are very hard to control and to learn. How far can you go for distance wise if you don't hit the balance point? Must be limited before the bike drops. Well either way good luck. Keep up those stoppies. those are hot but I am not going to try those just yet.

How are your fork seals doing from the blatant pounding you are giving them?

P.S. I used to live in Ellington back in the early 90's. The white, three story farmhouse right on that bad 20mph corner of Broad Brook road & 140 (before they moved the curve to the back side of Harry Friedman's house about 8 years back). Great little town....once you get used to the smell of cowpie. :)

Ya one has to get use to that smell. Lived here my whole live. Not the farmer type nor is my family. I live near the Rockville line. Just up the street from the middle school on middle butcher road off of rt83.

Fork seals are doing good, I accelerate out of my wheelies to bring the wheel down slow verse a sudden drop.

And to the oil statement, I understand but I am not holding it up there. More of a pop it up and accelerate out of it. Just for my fun sake.

//Probably no worse than revving the engine on a cold startup. Not something I would do, but not the end of the world either. I follow your wheelie posts with interest. I'd film you if we were closer.

ya I would love to see what I look like, body all tensed up when the float point hits. Or see that I am actually 2 ft off the ground all this time when I think I am really up there. lol

i count by pedal rotations and i get a average of 8 now which i estimate to be about 30 feet.stoppies are VERY hard. every time i get a good one, my bike goes sideways.

my gsxr600 will barly do a wheely its a X racer though and the engine is pretty beet it will go up but to go more than like 20 feet is a maricle... as for stoppies there not that hard as long as you don't worry too much about dropping the bike... all you have to do is mash the front brakes and lean forward...

I know it is easy to get into a stoppie but I am talking about controlling it, as to that there is no way to recover if going forward to much, not like a wheelie to bash on the rear brake to get a slapper or to release the throttle.

I know how my post on my progress interest u. Getting more comfortable with the balance point feeling, starting to hold them for about 30-50 yards. Not long but long enough for now. Starting to try to use the clutch to bring it up in low rpms. Trying to get over my fear since I have had bad experiences with the rear tire kicking out to the side, never brought the bike down but scared the bagezzis out of me. But a sitting power throttle wheelie to the balance point is not an issue anymore.

Oil pressure

You can modify the oil take up so it is in the rear of the pan. That way when you do extended wheelies your bike isn't trying to fight gravity as it pulls up oil.

You can see the effects of lots of extended wheelie time on engine wear in the form of blown seals and gaskets, although I don't imagine most people will hit that length of time consistently and frequently...

Of course, if you do change the pick up, then when you do long distance stoppies you're screwed.
