well actually the shop came to my house to get my bike for free  . they are going to go thru the hole bike. and tell/show me what needs to be replaced and fixed. they'll call me tuesday. and of course 2 friends of mine came over to my house just an hour after my bike was gone. to go for a ride  .

What are we talking about, again? Sorry, man, but there are too many goofy names on too many forums for us to remember everyone's story. Need a refresher.

nothing really. i was just excited to get my bike to the shop to have the things known and unknown fixed on her! and wanted to tell the WWW  :) !!

i did mention in another thread that my bike needed a list of things fixed on her. and people had told me that i shouldn't be riding her until those things are fixed. so i guess that could be my other excuse to have this thread  :) .

ok the list is:

-speedometer doesn't work
-gas leak from the bottom of the tank
-there is air in my clutch system. i have to bleed the clutch and add more fluid every week.
-blinkers do not work properly.
-i might have an oil leak. but it could be my clutch problem though.
-i need a new chain and sprockets
-needs a tune-up and general up-keep
-carbs cleaned and properly jetted
-and whatever else they find that it needs fixing

By the time they're done  you may wish you'd got a new bike  .
i know i was dreading to let my bike go to the shop. fearing the bill is going to be outrageous and all. but they gave me quotes on the most of those things. and that wasn't bad. and plus they are NOT going to fix my bike until i give them the OK to. they said they would call me today or tomorrow with what they found thats wrong with the bike. and i will tell them what to fix and not fix.

Good luck man...I had a Katana 600 that needed a lot of work but I just couldn't afford it. It was more financially advantageous to have a new bike that was warranted than to fix the old one...but as long as you have the time/money I say go for it.

yeah thats the one thing about older bikes that sux. they always need fixing. and the parts are hard to find etc...

i never worked on a motorcycle before. i've done plenty of hybrid engine swaps in Honda's all by myself. so when they call me back and say the list of things wrong and the price. if i'm not liking the price. i'll have them do the things i can't do myself. then do the rest myself.
