Interesting idea....

Considering your throttle is controlled by the transit of the throttle cable.... That to me says that you'd need to adjust the size of pully wheel that your cable rotates....

There's tpyically a shaft connected to the butterfly valves on your carbs, that has a pully wheel that is attached to your throttle cable. If you increased the diameter of this wheel, then a smaller movement of your throttle cable will have a larger rotation on the shaft that controls the butterfly valves (not sure on the tie-in to the modern bikes with EFI). Given how tight everything is on my bike, I don't think I'd personally have room for anything larger.

Is this something you heard about from someone else, or just something you're looking for because you don't like adjusting your grip on your throttle as you accelerate?

somewhat both. I dont like having such a long travel on the grip to get full throw. I thought i remember seeing someone talk about getting one or changing their's.

I had 2 of those years ago. 1 on my BSA 500 Dirt bike and 1 on a BSA 750 Twin for flat track. The Wheel that the cable attaches to, is larger, also the grip itself is a smaller dia. Be aware, sudden power engagements (Narrow Band power) can cause you to open it up more that you want. I let a friend of mine ride The BSA 500 single and warned him about the 1/4 turn racing throttle. He didn't realize the torque that bike had, and the first thump jerked him back and of coarse caused his throttle hand to go back also. He learned to do wheelies while his feet were behind him, not pretty as the bike kept accelerating.

na my bike runs fine and everything.I am just learning about the normal behavior or bikes and how they run after before, during and after break-in. I just dont like sticking with stock parts and since i have no knowledge of bikes, i ask. I am mechically incline tho. I've had a 69' chevelle for 8years and when i got it, it did 21seconds in 1/4 mile....LOL and over 3 years i got it to 12.9sec. I just wouldnt know where to start on my bike.

Also i bought my bike because i cannot save money. I have good credit but no bank would give me a loan for a bike. When suzuki had that spring promotion for $99 a month no money down. I ran to dealer and got my bike.I didnt qualify enough for a gixxer. They gave me $8500 credit. 600 gixxer there was $7900 with fees or gear.

I am happy with mine anyway.I've ridden many bikes and never liked the feel and comfort. Of course most people will say you dont buya gixxer to be comfortable. You want comfort buy a cruiser.Well i found comfort in the Katana. My longest trip has been 140miles up to reno and NOTHING on my body hurt or was sore from riding.I plan on buying a cruiser in a couple years , but i love the sportbike look and wanted that first.I just like to ride and thats what it is ALL ABOUT.

APE sells them. So does Dennis Kirk.

You will have to relocate your starter switch/pod because the throttle housing won't accept it.

They are made for race bikes. Having one on the street is a pain in the ass.
