Finding a GSX-R 600 preferably yellow and black in the 2000's for $5500 or less is a pain in the booty. I have called every dealer, I have looked at every website (atleast I think). This is really starting to depress me, considering winter is around the corner. If you guys could help me out with a site to search I would really appreciate it. Im sorry also, because I have posted something similar to this just recently....thanks

You'd have done better to continue this post on your OTHER thread, since you already got a lot of information, and some people may end up repeating.. :shm:

I will tell you though, check with consignment shops. When you're looking for "specific" and "used" you will be looking for a while. Also, it seems you only want to look in your local area. If you're willing to pay for shipping or have a way of trailering the bike, then you're options will broaden.

If you'll consider shipping, PM me and I'll give you some shippers (don't have them here at my home computer). They will give you quotes, but if they have a hub in your area, or if you're willing to pick up from a loading/unloading "dock" then the rates drop lower than door-to-door costs.

Just giving you more tips.

Get a NOS 'Busa w/all the mods. Take your helmet money and but seven pairs of flip flops . . . one for each day of the week.
Your right, Mr. Meat Man, he could use his extra money to get different colors to match his shorts and baseball caps. Screw the helmet, it can only hold ice cold beer when your sitting still.

Mmmm. Beer....
For some reason I visualize you clutching a Coors Light sitting at Nascar, I don't know why though...........
I picture him sitting in a grass hut on stilts in the middle of the South Pacific, while super models play rock-paper-scissors to see who gets to slather him in baby oil next . . . or something.

[EDIT: Dig my number of posts . . . 666. <spooky 'damien-type' music plays>]

Somebody actually told me that bikes are very cheap during the winter. For some reason many people want to get rid of them during the cold season, and there aren't many people shopping for MCs during December either. The result is a very slow gowing for the dealers, and lots of good deals for people willing to buy during this period.

So the theory goes. I don't know if it holds up in practice though. Good luck with your bike shopping! :D

That's the way it works here (Memphis, TN). I price shop all of the time (not looking for a new bike, just shopping) and it appears to me that you are correct, sir.

I second that. Try this. Walk into a dealership today. There will be folks all over the place; people picking up repaired/maintenanced (there's a BIG difference between maintenance and repair . . . if you don't know the difference, you're probably doing repairs :) ) bikes, people buying parts, people shopping for new bikes, etc.

Then, walk in the same dealership in November. Nothing. Tumble weeds blowing up against the bikes. Dust on everything. Salesmen waking up to the sound of the doorbell saying, "Huh? Wha . . ."

Even the ones that won't work with you on the price have a 'deal' going on during the winter.
