How much is the asking price? Is it repainted or original colors? Has it been down? If so, how bad was the damage? What was damaged in the crash(es)? How many miles?

Answer me those Q's, and I can help you a bit more.

That is about 1,750 US. I don't know. 15K miles, pretty low actually. I'd try and talk him down on the price still. Used old bikes always have many unforseen problems no matter how good of condition they are in. Regardless of the tank, there are about a hundred other things you will need to be looking at.

I'd say $1,400 US is more like it, or lower even.

An absolutely perfect specimen might bring around $2,500 US. Problem is, nobody really wants an old Gixxer for that kind of dough. They would rather take the money, put a down payment on a new bike and have some bragging rights.

Expensive old sportbikes are a hard sell. Especially the '88 and '89s, where there aren't the parts around.
