Well, we went to Nebraska to get my fiance's wedding dress with my folks and we ended up stopping at a few dealerships. Long story short my dad and I are making the 100 mile trip home, me on a red m50 and him on a black c50. I'm loving the bike, and I'm learning quite a bit as well. I decided against the windshield and went with a full face helmet. I am getting the backrest and the luggage rack for it. I'm trying to find a nice cover for the bike and thought I'd see what you'd recommend. I didn't realize how expensive they are.

This is my first bike and I've been pouring over the forums learning all I can from you guys.

Thanks again.

Welcome!

The m50 is a nice bike, and it was a good idea to get a helmet.

My advice is to take the MSF course ASAP (if you haven't taken it before or it's been a while), get yourself a full set of gear (jacket, gloves, boots, pants and a kidney belt), and practice, practice, practice.

Definitely not a rich guy here, but I am definitely loving it. My fiance is starting to show an interest in driving now too and we are looking at getting her a defiant or a rebel to learn on. A college a couple hours away offers MSF courses and even provides the bikes! Also, any pointers on a cover for the M50? I have a hard time paying $100.00+ for a glorified tent :p (stakes are obviously NOT extra) :)

Wow, congratulations! So, does that mean she got a nice dress!! ;)

Yes, I agree with the above posts...good job on the helmet, and get to an MSF class if you haven't already!

Welcome! :)

She seems to be happy with it, but it would be bad form for me to see it before the wedding. Supposedly it is a good mix of fun and classical. We are going to be married in Nassau as part of a cruise wedding. We have around 24 people going on the cruise with us. I'm sure we'll have stories when we get back :)

Will the bike be stored outside, or inside (a garage)? If outside, you don't have to spend $100+ for a good cover. Just shop around. try www.motorcycle-superstore.com or www.denniskirk.com. Even JC Whitney now has their own motorcycle section of parts.
