Easy install ... 30 minutes for all. Here's my choice in the mirrors; OEM above, Kuryakyn Ellipse mirrors below. I chose these as you can see because they are relatively the same size so rearviewing is not hindered:

Here's the before and after install of both mirrors and flasher lenses; sorry for the dark garage pics, but it was raining outside:

The clear lenses look SOOOO much better than the amber ... should have been OEM if you ask me. I'll take better pics this weekend after installing the grips, if it's good weather!

Yes, I bought the Clear Alternatives amber bulbs which use a chrome finish on the glass ... thus no amber reflection in the housing until the flasher is active. I'm very pleased.

I just found clear lenses and bulbs (front & rear) on e-bay for $30 plus $6-$7 for shipping. is this good? I love the looks of your and wanta do the the same. I've never seen that dramatic of a difference with such a little mod. The bike is deffinatly cool. I hope to have mine done by the end of the week.

Fronts and rears for $30 sounds good. Are they "crystal" clear like the ones I installed or just colorless? I ask this because the pre-2005 M50's I believe did not have the "crystal" lenses OEM, but definitely would look nice with it!

I'm not totally sure. didnt know ther was a difference. They should still look ok huh???? Yours looks great. Nice bike period.... I've been looking into this mod for some time now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but your pics just made up my mind. I already ordered mine. Like I said before both front and back lenses and bulbs, all 4 corners for less than $40. Thats les than $ bucks per corner, thats cheap for a mod............... later and ride safe

Yeah, your ebay link is the same company that I bought mine from, Cruiser Customizing. They're a great company. Here's the link. Scroll around in that section and you'll see the difference between your model lights and mine. Still going to look really clean though! :)

Yes, you'll want p/n CA-CTS0032 for the lenses and for the bulbs p/n's CA-1157CBA and CA-1156CBA (front and rear).

I will have to say that the mirrors are the most disappointing look on the bike and the first thing I'm going to change. I want to get a tear drop shape since I think it would go best with the air filter cover but I'm worried about losing field of view so I started thinking about the ovals like Z Dude put on.

A question for Pinhy, are those mirrors even functional?

YES VERY!!

i have a thread i started back when i got them and this came up. i was a little worried about it when i ordered them, but am so glad i did. there really is NO LOSS of visibility. the only thing you are really losing is HEIGHT of the mirror out at the tip. if you set your angle correctly, you still everything you need to. i would TOTALLY rec. you get the teardrop ones (they were my 2nd choice and if i had realized the shape of the airbox before just now i would have gotten them i think).

DO NOT worry about your vision and get the mirrors you like.
