I was wondering which insurance company (in Southern California) would insure a bike which will be primarily parked and locked up at a storage facility (like "U-Haul storage" or "Storage USA"), rather than a home garage. The reason is that my parents don't like me to ride bike because of the risks and so I need to have a place to keep my bike rather than at home.

Any ideas ?

Costanza.

. . . and yes.

Any insurance company should cover you, right? I <ahem> have not been able to attain coverage at this time, but it would seem that a company that would cover a bike stolen from, say Wal-Mart, would lso cover a bike stolen from a ministorage, or garage, etc.

So long as you're not parking it in downtown Memphis with the keys in it, I wouldn't think they'd even ask. I may be missing the point.

When I got insured by AAA, they say that a primary parking location cannot be a commercial property. I was just wondering if other insurance companies have similar issues. ???

Maybe it's time to sit down and have a heart to heart with dear old Mom and Dad. After all, there are worse things you could be doing besides riding a motorcycle, that is unless you are already doing those things. If the heart to heart is out of the question, I'd suggest you move to Memphis and live with Landry.

Sorry, I don't know anything about insurance, less about your Mom and Dad and more than I need to about Landry.

Along with my continued resistance to getting married, this bike-riding is probably the worst offense.

Ya, my mom was pissed at me for getting a bike to. So I drilled the pipes and went down to her house at around 2am and revvvvved it up a bit till the lights came on. Did this every night until she said she would go for a ride with me if I stopped waking her up. hahahha Gotta love your Mom. Now she does not care about the bike as long as I let her sleep ;-)

Most sorage places in Socal won't let you store a bike or any motor vehicle in their facility. Fire liability most likely. Better check, cause they'll see it coming and going.

As for insurance try State Farm. PM me if you need a good agent.
