Hi. I run the Motorcycle Search Engine. We try and help find answers to motorcycle questions for people. I was hoping someone might know something about this Suzuki question:

Mike asks: "I am wondering if a 1994 Suzuki RF 600 with 26,000 miles is worth 2000. I am not sure if the mileage is too much. How do you judge mileage on a bike."
Just in case anyone was wondering what this bike looked like, here is a link that I found: http://www.bikez.com/bike/index.php?bike=4089 I know it's really a mileage question, though.

Glad this forum is here. I'm sure I can learn much.

Regards,

Jon

You don't judge mileage. You judge the previous owner's maintenance practices.

Yeah, remember that the KBB dealer price includes prep on the bike (some do it, most don't). No way I would ever pay $2,700 for an RF600 when I could plop that down on a NEW Bandit 600 or Bandit 1200, and have it halfway paid off.

2,200 is the max it is worth if the bike is in A-1 condition.
The milage is only an issue if the bike was not maintained which would be pretty evident just by looking at high wear items like chain/ sprokets, tires, and the running motor noise. Also the fairings need to be in good shape or all bets are off on the max price for it.

Hope this helps.
