I will be purchasing a Vance & Hines Cruzer exhaust system, and a K&N filter for my 2003 Marauder 800 this month. I need to know if there is a difference in the Jet kits. Cobra has them all over the place for roughy $80. Will that kit be OK to use or is there a better one out there. I also noticed that Dynojet makes several different "stages" of kits as well.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

To give you a basic crash course. Your carbs meter fuel and your exhaust gets rid of the burnt gasses. Now when you put a free flow aftermarket exhaust on your bike you are flowing more air through the motor. This requires the carbs Jets (little brass pieces) and needles to be changed to accomadate the different flow from the exhaust. The Brass Jets have different size holes that you select by the # stamped on them. The higher the # the bigger the hole the more fuel you flow. The Needle meters the amount of fuel the jet allows in by fitting into the main jets opening. When you twist the throttle the slide holding the needle raises out of the main jet and allows fuel into the carb throat and then into the motor.

More air/fuel means more power in most cases

Confused....Sorry

Hi saw your post on rejetting. If you want to save some money and talk to a person who does nothing but rebuild carbs and put pipes on bikes, Give www. motorcyclecarbs.com a call they are a company in Ga and that is all they do. Give them a call tell them what you have and what your looking for. I'm sure they can help you and save you some money too. They are great good luck with your rejet mod.
