I just bought a Yoshimura Tri-Oval Slip on for my 2004 GSXR 600. I was wondering it it literally just "bolts on" and doesnt require any jetting or welding. I don't think it will but I was wondering if you guys had any input or info.

No, but its my first real mod. I had a Ninja 500, but they didn't make anything except some crappy Muzzy exhaust for it. Not new to bikes, but new to modification. :D

I will, and thank you for NOT buying a monster bike as your first so maybe you'll be around to chat for some years to come.

You have a 2004 GSXR, that bike is fuel injected therefore you will not have to re-jet ever. That only applies to carbeuration. If you wanted to play with your mixture then you would want a powercommander for that but since you are looking at a slip on only you need do nothing more than put it where your OEM can is right now and you will be done.

Enjoy

Thanks for the info; I feel better I can do this myself. Now about the power commander.....I heard that is kinda un-necessary for a bike thats injected. My friend's dad has a turbo'd GSXR 1000 and he says the commander doesn't do much. I'm not sure and thats why I ask if the GSXR 600 needs a new air/feul mixture.

with just a slip-on you will not be changing enough to be worth it. If you go full system and want to get optimum performance from it then you will need it. When you start dealing with turbo it kinda changes all the rules so don't place too much credit in that for a stock engine. His a/f mixture is already set where he wants it. You could definately benefit from the PC but not neccessary for you right now

Thats cool that I could some time get more mods. Honestly I got the slip-on because I found a new one on Ebay for 1/3 the price as usual. I honestly am not an aggressive rider and hadn't originally planned on getting a pipe, but it was such a deal I could't say no. Someday I may go heavy on mods, or even a bigger bike, but in the week I've had the GSXR I'm still learning the feeling of the bike.
