Just a curious thought, the busa does 190's but i heard that it is governed to whatever its top speed is. Is there any other bikes that have governers on them and maybe not even know it has one? what is a governer and where is it located? in the carbs or is it electrical?
just curious?!?

On many vehicles it's done with ignition retard. When a certain speed or rpm is reached, the spark to one or more cylinders is cut. Not sure about the 'Busa, but I don't care to go that fast anyway.

Yeah its more associated with RPMs then speed and for good reasons such as engine wear and catastrophic failure. Remember production bikes arent built with the best hardware (pistons, con rods, bearings and cylinder walls, etc.) for extreme high rpms they balance durability with cost effeciency to deliver a decent bike to the public. Thats why most racers replace these things with lighter more durable and yet costly items.

Sorry tend to ramble, anyways careful going past factory set governors.

Most bikes have rev limiters sothat people don't blow up their engines.

A stock Busa will not do 190MPH, acheiving those speeds requires some major work and money.

Why?

Are you planning on entering a NASCAR race? I have reached 110 mph and that was a little more than I liked. But then again I have had a dear jump out infront of me at 60 mph and with less than 60 feet of room I knew it was all over. I just steared straight, closed my eyes and prepared for the impact. I intended to fly off the bike, grad the deer and use it for my landing. The impact never happend, and do to my eyes closed for a moment, I never saw where the deer went. At 190 at 60 feet I don't even think I would have time to get my eyes closed. But hey that is just me. :?

agreed

If you break it down from Miles Per Hour (mph) to Feet Per Second (fps) at 60 mph you are going 1 mile per min and 88 fps.

going 190 mph it breaks down to 3.167 miles per min, and 278.696 fps

I don't know of anyone that would have any reaction speed to compensate for that. let alone if you tried to do anything but go straight you would probably end up being a greese stain on the highway.

You need unrestricted model of Busa's made in 2000, or you need a Turbo Busa. 400 horse power ones.

They can do 200 mph...

I can be wrong... But I did lots of research on this and found lots of websites..

If I am wrong, I appoligize....
