Anyone have any suggestions about a good, full-face VENTILATED helmet. I live in Florida, so it is super hot most of the time, so looking for something with GREAT ventilation. Right now I have one that is "supposedly" ventilated, but it is hot as hell in there. Also have a 3/4 helmet with face shield that I wear, but would feel safer with a full face. Thanks for any help!

I really like my Shoei Syncrotec (it's the helmet that has the lift-up jaw). There are two vents in it that seem to circulate the air pretty well.

Although, I find that the most helpful thing when I'm trying to get the most air possible, is to lift your visor one or two clicks to let in some air, but still protect your face...

I'm sending my Arai Signet GTR back to them at the end of the season because most of the vents are broken or nonfunctional. It's a great helmet, with a great fit and feel, but the peripherals are junk. I'm quite dissappointed.

So far, though, their service has been good. They're sending me some parts to get through the season.

I had a pair of Bieffe Airtech lids - supposedly the lightest and best vented helmets in their day.

About a month ago, I got an Arai, RX-7 RR. The manual is 11 or 14 pages long. Right off the top of my head (pun intended) I think it has 6 intake vents and two or four exhaust vents. This doesn't include the mechanism that will lock the visor in a slightly open "venting" position.

It also feels like it weighs about 1/10 what my Bieffes weigh.

Overall, I think it's the best lid I've ever tried on.

Oh yeah, I got the McCoy Slide King race replica - which we all
know is the coolest and fastest.... :p

Bottom line though - try on lots of models and see which one feels the best on your head. Cheers.

Hey...a friend of mine has the exact same helmet. Did you know that you can pull on the chin piece and it extends a little...helps keep wind from coming up in the helmet (in the event you DON'T want more ventilation)

My brother got one of the new Scorpion helmets at a BMW rally recently - he raves about its ventilation. I'm replacing my old Arai Signet, and my daughter's old HJC (both past the MSF statut of limitations), and ordered two of them, an EXO-700 for me, and an EXO-400 for her. So, I'll let you know. It's still very warm - and very humid - here, so I should get a chance to ride it in heat and see how it ventilates.

I couldn't find any of these helmets within 100 miles, so I ordered by phone. I usually like to try them on, but I know I'm a medium, and my brother's got the same shape of head as me, so I think it'll work out great. Can't beat the price, I've got two nice helmets for a lot less than one Arai. The rep told me the 700 series has a larger chin vent. It also is the only style that comes in white - and since I'm a "good guy", I want it in white!

I have the HJC AC-11 and it says it's well ventilated but either my nose it too close to the visior or there is something wrong with me but I get fog. So yeah you do need to crack the visior one click to keep the air moving freely inside. I've even gone so far are boring out the vent holes to make them bigger to keep the air coming in faster.

Just keep opening up the visior at every stop light and you should be okay, besides the weather is starting to cool down some and loose the humidity which is the killer.

I just replaced my HJC CL-14 with a Suomy Spec 1R. I always had problems with the HJC fogging up and not enough ventilation (even with all the vents open).
The Suomy never fogs up, keeps the top of my head cool all the time and fits great.

I did know that, in fact. The owner's manual that came with the lid was in Japanese, so I found the downloadable manual on the Arai website. It's explained in there. :D :D

Just picked up the Scorpion EXO-700. Fiberglass/Kevlar shell. Moisture wicking liner (customizable in several colors). Fog and scratch resistant coating on the face shield. Quick change face shield.

Scorpion says that the only difference between their helmet and a $600 helmet is that theirs is about $400 less. So far, I'm a believer.
