Is this due to colder weather? It was about 85degrees 2 days ago then we got clouds and now its 60.

My bike, an '84 poorly maintained before I got it, does about the same thing. When cold like this morning, I have to put the choke on full. It starts for about 5 seconds and then slowly slows down and dies. Have do this a few times, then I must turn off the choke, turn the Idle screw to the highest and then it starts just fine. I HAVE to let warm up a good 5-10 minutes otherwise I stall at the first stop signs when pulling the clutch in.

Who me?

The carbs were clean thoroughly in June. I think they spent 4 days in the parts-cleaner-tub.

They might be not fully synced (don't know if it would cause such a behavior) and I know it needs a major valve adjustment (been told I COULD do it myself but I'm hesitating a lot).

I doubt very much the behavior of the choke though.

No, got a friend who's a mechanic. He rebuilt his bike completely and I trust his work.

My bike is a GPz550 1984. (I know, I know, ... not Suzuki)

Never trust anyone but yourself. :shock:

Hmm, yeah you could try a valve adjustment. That might cure some of it. A carb synch won't usually make that much of a difference in the performance.

OK whatever. I own several bikes that old. Sych helps out somewhat, but is not symptomatic of the problems he is having.
