I bought my 2000 Marauder at the end of 99. I have only put about 8,500 miles on it but I absolutely love it. I ride it every chance I get. Its the first motorcycle I have ever had and I was 33 when I bought it. It rides and runs perfectly. I have never had a problem with it and don't expect any. I service it every three thousand miles and wash it endlessly. I think its a very sharp bike and it does'nt bother me if Suzuki discontinues it because that will only make it a classic sooner. I'm not ever going to part with it. I may eventually have another bike to go with it, but I don't think I could ever bear to be without it. Its bulletproof and I get compliments on it everywhere I go. I put an engine guard, cobra drag pipes and a nice windshield and Marauder studded saddlebags on it. It is coooool.

Awesome....though the marauder is a great looking bike, I am looking forward to my first bike (i'm 32) being the new marauder...the M50. I am in love with the way it looks and the fact that it is fuel injected, shaft driven, water cooled...etc.

I am trying to find a used marauder to learn on for the next couple months until the M50 makes it into stores. have a call into a guy in orlando from cycle-trader, but no call back in two days. guess he sold it.

I love my Intruder. It runs like a dream. Plenty of power. And (to me) it's beautiful, even though the motorcycle writers say it's as old as a fossil. One writer even called it "nerdy".

I don't mind that it's been discontinued. I own a piece of history. It was the first attempt by the Japanese to copy a Harley cruiser - and they did it better than Harley. From what I've read, the Intruder has been a better bike (quicker, more reliable) than the Sportster for 20 years.

Don't be too upset. The Marauders, Volusias, and Intruders live on in the M's, C's, and S's.

I Love My Wife's Marauder

I love my wife's Marauder. I bought a used 2001 Marauder for her last month. She won't complete the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's Basic Rider Course until The second weekend in January. Since my new Boulevard S50 in the shop for a custom paint job I've been riding her Marauder to keep the battery charged and to prevent rusting. I've put about 1700 miles on it this month!

I think the Intruders are cool looking too.

Kind of chopper looking without going overboard. I think Suzuki and the other Japanese bikes are the best thing going. Cruisers for the working man. Hey my wife looks like Kirsty Alley used to look and she's not near as high maintenance.

Would that be a Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket?

No. Never went to GT; lived in Georgia for about six years though. My member name comes from my ride, a 2005 Boulevard S50 (Intruder). I'm getting it painted yellow and black with that yellow jacket cartoon on the tank.

I'll post pictures when it comes back from paint.

I love my '03 Marauder too. I just got it in October,so I didn't have long to ride it before it got cold. It's winterized right now and even though it's been warm these past couple of weeks, I'm afraid we'll go back into sub-zero temps any time now, so it will stay in storage until spring. The wait is killing me!!!

How do you like the S50? Have you had a chance to ride it yet? I went into the dealership to buy an S50 back in October and they still had a new 2004 Intruder VS 800 there. I liked it a lot and saved almost $1,000 off the S50's price.

I like the S50. My next bike (years from now) will probably be an S50 or an S83. The custom paint on yours sounds great.

I've put about 600 miles on the S50 and I love it. I don't see much difference between the Vs800 Intruder and the S50. The S50 has drag bars, a one-piece dual seat, no sissy bar, and different badging. The mechanicals are all the same. That's why I was willing to buy a bike, which represents a "Brand New" design. It Isn't! The S50 is simply a rebadged 800 Intruder. Arguably, the most reliable modern V-twin available!:)

Hi everyone ... and a Happy New Year to all! Though I own/Ride a Savage and lust after a new S50, I think the 'Rauder is one sharp and unique lookin' Bike ... the only thing that would make it better IMO, is one of those aftermarket belt-drive kits from scootworks.com that show up on e-bay all the time!

I've a '01' VS800 Intruder with about 9,700 mi. I really like the bike, but the carbs are driving me whacko. I'm really interested in the M50, mostly due to the FI. Just wish they'd get the darn thing out. Half the boozo sales people around here don't even know what it is when you stop at the dealers and inquire. Most of them dismiss me saying they don't make anything like that (Maurader) any more, since it's not shown in the '05' literature.

My best advice: Pick up a used GZ 250 (Marauder 250 in most of the world) for about $1500 - $2000 and learn on that. It will make you a better rider sooner and then you can easily recover the money spent when you go to pick up your M50. If your ego is too big to ride a 250, well, do what you have to. I just think it's better to learn how to ride before you worry about getting a bigger kick butt bike. Apparently I'm a retard - since most newbies seem to want Gixxers these days.
