My bike ('02 GSXR 600) needs a bit of maintenance and I was curious what I should expect to pay.

The first thing it needs is new fork seals. I guess that's what I get for doing a couple poor wheelies. How much is that going to set me back?

It also needs to have the throttle valve synchronization inspected. Ideas on the cost for that?

Most of these guys will tell you to do it yourself, but I just droped mine off at the shop and the labor rate was $55 an hour. The book time on something like that probably will be around a couple of hours (no more than 5). I wouldn't think it would run you over $350, but you never know. I would just call them and ask!

This is the result of wheelies? ~$350
OMG!
Both tires on the road for me from now on. Man, that's an aftermarket bolt-on & air filter...or even a new set of nice tires w/a few bucks to spare. WOW!

SATA X - I'll call the shop tomorrow and see what they say. I was just curious what experience others had with this so I'll know if the number they give me is reasonable or not. Are you saying you don't think it'd run over $350 for both the fork seals and the throttle valve sync?

Mike - I suspect a hard wheelie landing is at least partially to blame for the blown fork seal. They've got 11,500 miles on them so that plays a part as well I'm sure.

Synch check? Does that mean they hose you if it actually needs some screws tuned?
