Metal Ingredients of Kat rims

I am current pursuing the powder-coating of my 94 Kat 600 rims. Most of the places that I talk to say that they will powder-coat them if they are 100% aluminum. They told me that there may be some magnesium in the rims and that they might become brittle after firing.

How can I tell if my rims are 100% aluminum?

Thanks

As far as I know, unless you can contact suzuki themselves and ask them if they have the forging/machining information for those wheels from that year, the only way to find out if they are solid aluminum, is to cut a piece out of one of them and send them off to be analyzed.

I would maybe take a chance and just try it, unless you would rather spend the money on some new rims flat out.
