Hi all. I have recently had heart surgery, triple bi-pass and needed, at least for a short while, to lower my seating position. I first purchased a lowered seat but still couldn't flat feet. I purchased a very good quality set of shocks, front & rear. Unfortunately the rear turned out to be for a earlier model, i.e., fitted with forked lower fitment whereas mine requires an eyelet. I would really like to use this shock as it is ideal if it can be fitted. Has anybody else come across this quit unique design that has a secondary sag spring. Can anybody suggest how to replace the fork with an eyelet while keeping the sag spring mechanism. My bike is a BMW R1150RT while the spring was for a R1100RT

I cannot think of any way that the end caps can be replaced. A motorcycle suspension specialist may know of a way but I guess they will be fairly thin on the ground. Only other place is a wreckers for one that may fit with the desired design Sorry I couldnt help hope your recovery is well on the way....nice bike btw.

Hi Steve. I have attached what I have achieved so far. I am now waiting on high-tensile fasteners to replace the dodgy hardware-store ones I have used on the prototype. Also, my current problem is I cannot get the rear brake caliper off as it is far too tight or secured with locktite. I am also waiting on a air rattle gun that may do the job hopefully. Getting the back wheel bake on while the caliper is in place is a th
