Its about time i changed the battery on my bike bc it doesnt seem to be holding a charge. After looking into a new battery i realized the wide variety available and was wondering to myself, are motorcycle batteries interchangeable? I mean other than size whats the real difference?? I know in car batteries there are group sizes, cold cranking amps and regular cranking amps, but as this info isnt listed for motorcycle batteries. . . maybe someone out there knows the answer.

I tried to get one that"looked like it would fit".
After 3 trips to the auto parts store I ended up getting it from the dealer.
One was too wide, one too tall and the other had the terminals reversed.
They had both a generic and a "better" battery I went with the better one

I will let you in on a well kept secret.

Buy your battery at Sears Auto centersw. They use Yuasa batteries and are cheaper than the dealer. They cary most of the popular batteries and if they don't they can have it in less than a week. Why pay the inflated Dealer price for the same battery?

Trust me on this one guy's!
