It was a GREAT day Sunday!!! I managed to log my first 125 miles on my bike.
I noticed the gears have a distinct clunk when shifting. When I accelerate in first, pull in the clutch, then upshift there is this kinda winding sounding noise, then the later upshifts have a distinct clunk sound when upshifting. Is that normal for a Suzuki gear box? I am having no problems with the engagement, just wanna make sure that is normal so I don't tear something up. Any input would be great, Thanks!!

Pretty normal at least from my Intruder. Seems to diminish as the bike gets some miles on it (not really, you just get accustomed to it and don't notice after a while - sounds more reassuring to indicate it goes away).

Make sure your oil is at proper level and ride it a lot. If they're any problems going to develop (which I doubt) you want to make them happen while under warranty. 'Saving' it by trying to keep it low mileage at this point is a big mistake.

yes this is pretty normal. my M50 does it as did my older GS....asked my friend about it and his Honda VTX does the same...

it is much more noticeable between 1 and 2 (2 down to 1) due to going through Neutral. there is nothing wrong with your tranny....

Congrats on logging some miles!

Thanks,,, I appreciate it. I was hoping I didn't tear something up or was doing something wrong. That makes me feel alot better. Hopefully I will be able to log some more miles on it this week as well.
