Well, I finally did it. I was able to get on my bike and bring the front wheel a fairly good distance off the ground and ride a few yards before setting it back down again. :)

I was in 1st gear doin about 45 at about 6k RPMs I think, then I just twisted the throttle and WHEEE! the front tire lifts right off the ground. No clutch involved.

I couldnt do it on my Bandit being that it weighed in at 450 lbs and was only a 600... (and I didnt wanna **** up the transmission)

I couldnt really even do it on that GSXR 1k being that I had that throttle problem so i couldnt crank it, and I didnt wanna pop the clutch (shouldnt HAVE to on a damn 1000!)

so anyways, I figured I would share my cute little moment with the rest of yous guys.

Congrats.

I pulled my Bandit once on accident. I was revving at a jerk in a truck beside me and when the light went I hit it . . . at about 9 grand on the tach. I was wondering why I had no sterring control until . . . <bump> I felt the front tire set down.

Have you met LayinLo?

it's hard as hell to do a wheelie on my bike. well, it's that and the fact i'm scared as hell to pop my clutch already doing 60mph or more. just to get on one wheel!!!

i've done some wheelies. like only having the front wheel off the ground like 3 inches or so!!!

Congratulations!

I accidentally did my first one at the 800 mile mark on my bike. I rode by a guy parked on a Harley. I waved. He flipped me off. I was bummed. I was going about 35. I thought I was in third. I was in second. I revved it and dropped it down a gear and then cranked the throttle. UP came the front. It was NOT my intention to do that.

First gear action.

Now I don't care who you are...that's funny right there!!!

I've only had one accidental wheelie myself, if you can call it a wheelie. It felt like my wheel came off the ground quite a bit, but it was probably only a few inches!!

Hey one thing. Over the weekend. I came next to a guy on a Busa. As he passed me on the side street...he brought the front wheel up. And lost it. Man he went down hard. Looked like when he went up..his weight shifted to the one side by accident, and the bike weaved..down he went with the bike tumbling.

like i said man, no need to even touch the clutch with this bike, just get the rpm's up to about 6 (about 50mph) then just twist the throttle.

front wheel = elevated

i've done it a couple of times now on the bike. still havnt tried to do any shifting or anything like that. in fact, i'm still working on trying to keep it up for a resonable amount of time. it's hard getting past the fear when the front end comes up to keep it up. your first reaction is to ease off... in that case, down the front end goes :(

oh well, i'm steadily getting there
