Okay, this pic is just from the Suzuki website, but I have to wait a couple of days for the dealer to pull it from the crate and put it together. Put the deposit down this afternoon. I'll post the actuals once I get it home.

Welcome to the family of VL800 riders! (Yep, the C50 is still a VL800 too...) 8)

The bike rocks, and after learning on the GZ250 you will love it. Did you find a dealer willing to discount the '04 bikes?

Thanks for the welcome.

Actually managed to talk 'em down on the C50 as well, but they only had black. Got the VL800 at a great price, and it was in the great blue/gray color. Could have gotten the C50 for about $500 more, but am very happy with the choice.

The only problem, I don't pick it up until Wednesday. And that is SOOOOO far away.

You think Wednesday is hard? I have to wait till Saturday! I'm picking up my Savage (greenish blue) on Saturday.

Like you, I coulda had the newer Boulevard S40 for about $400 more, but I really didn't want a black bike. I wanted the green/blue one. This one only has 400 miles on it and it came with a windshield and saddlebags. Couldn't resist!

So how do you like it? I would guess by your original post that you picked it up yesterday. Too much time riding and not enough time for the internet, I guess  .

I just put a deposit on a c50 that I will pick up next tues or wed. I am about to die waiting!

Whichever you want to call it, Volusia or Boulevard, its a great bike. I went with the C50 Black mainly because it matches my Rodeo. Just picked it up this past Wed (25 Aug)... first new bike for me in 15 years. Found this forum yesterday, and just had to share :D

Finally managed to get a few pix of the new ride taken. Even changed my avatar. Woohoo!

Anyway, here's a peek at my new baby.

It seems the only change to the Savage to make it the S40 was removing the backrest and increasing the price a bit. 8)

And straightening out the handlebars. My bike has the buckhorn style (or whatever you want to call it). The new S40 has straight bars. I like mine better.

Apparently this thread isn't all about me anymore. Is it?

I'll say it again to make you feel better, nice bike. Now that it is out of the way...

I really like the look without the back seat. I wish I had thought about that before putting a luggage rack and backrest on mine. My wife will never ride so the backrest it for looks (and my girlfriend  ) I could have saved some money.

Thanks all. And I was just kidding about the whole "all about me" stuff.

I have really liked the look of the bike without the passenger seat. Been tempted to pick up one of Jonathan's backrests as he says he can make an adjustment to fit this configuration. But it'll have to wait until my saddlebags (they shipped today) and my new leather jacket (ordered today) all come in.

Pricy little hobby this.
