Hello everyone,
Before i even ask anything i want to thank anyone that can help me with this.
I haven't rode in years and just got back into it. I just bought a Suzuki Intruder 800 1999. everything was running fine. i went to start the bike a couple of days ago. started right up, shifted into first and the bike lurched forward and stalled. i shifted back to neutral started the bike, shifted into first same thing. I drained clutch master cylinder, refilled and bled clutch slave. put everything back together. i went to start the bike and the starter switch did not work. trickle charged the battery, still nothing.

Any ideas? the bike won't start so I can't tell if the clutch is working. I have seen postings saying a solenoid. Is there a safety switch in the clutch which would prevent it fro starting?

Yes and likely one in the side stand too.
If the sidestand switch fails......or the sidestand is actually DOWN, the engine will die everytime you put it in gear.
That is how it is supposed to work.

That likely has nothing to do with it not starting though.
The clutch switch is needed to run the starter; so is the neutral switch; so is the KILL switch.
