I'm looking to buy a mid size bike like a 600 or so (mind you i've never owned a street bike). Here is the catch i'm fairly good size and want something that is going to be comfortable for me.

Four tips:

1. Read some of the recent threads. This is likely the most common question on this forum. Check the sportbike category, too.

3. Tell us more about you. How can we possibly give you advice on the two sentences you've offered?

C. Use a more descriptive thread title. Most of us don't like to have to open a thread to find out what it's about. Unless, that is, it's a surprise. In which case, feel free to be vague.

2. Notice that I only have 3 real tips. :D

5. Welcome to the forum.

Don't worry about him, why do you think he's called Rowdy ?

Would like more info though, what type of bike are you thinking about ?

Sportbike, standard, cruiser, etc...

lol

yeah what he said though really helped me out. I've been reading in all the other posts and i've pretty much decided on getting a '04 Katana 600 although i realize that i need to take it slow on my first bike.

Since it looks like you're deleting your other thread, here's what I wrote there.

My standard response: The Kat 600 is a bit much for a new rider. That said, since you already made up your mind you can save some cash by getting an older Kat. They haven't changed much since '98, and if you get an older bike it'll hurt less if you drop it (fairly likely for a beginner). You should be able to get a nice one for $3000-$3500.

thanks

I don't know what happend i was tring to post a reply to another suggestion and i must have accidently clicked on new topic, sorry for the incovenance. I was actually thinking about getting an older one for the same reason you told me if I dump it i won't be out as much. Now here is the question i started after and i still haven't found it in any of the other post yet. I'm only 5'10'' but i have a bit of a gut lol and i was wondering if this bike is going to be uncomfortable for me to even sit on. If so can you tell me of a street bike that maybe is made for a bigger man (i don't want a crusier).

yeah

thats what i've heard also but sence i've really decided to go forth with getting a bike i haven't had time to get down to the suzuki shop. thanks alot though :D. Is there a big difference in space with a bigger model like the Kat 750 or the GSX-R750 or the 1000. I've never really been into street bikes until my uncle got one so i've never really been up close to them, and he's got a cruzier

Any Kat is much more comfortable than the GSXRs. I don't think you'll have a problem, but make sure by sitting on one.

I spent a lot of time sitting on the Bandit before I bought it. The guy at the dealership probably thought I was a wanker. That's how you know for sure, though.

And thanks for the ringing endorsement, U.B. :p
