Hello all. My 2000 gsxr 600 has just got to be too slow :) I drove my friends zx9 with a big bore, and wow... i love it. So now i need more power!! I've decided to either 1) big bore kit (640cc) with a 30 shot of nitrous or 2) put a gsxr 1000cc in. I'm curious to know if any of you have done either of these and could offer some input/advise. Also, what kind of budget am I looking at? I'm thinking around $2k either way.

Thanks,
James

Your 600 would destroy that heavy ZX-9 on a roadrace track. That being said, trading up is honestly your best solution to brute HPs. I used to build smaller motors and try to squeeze as much HP out of them as I could. Expensive, time consuming and really a waste of money.

An engine swap might work. I don't know if the newer 1K motors will be able to shoehorn into the 600 chassis. Then there are other considerations to deal with as well.

2K most likely won't get you there.

Thanks for the posts. I'll start seeing what I can dig up on a swap. I can make some money back selling what I have that way. I'm not trading up cuz I put plenty of $$$ into it already and I plan on laying it down sometime either way (no point in doing that to a better bike).

Thanks,
James

everything i have heard on this subject is that the 2000-2003 gsxr 600/750/1000 are all the same frame. i don't know the truth behind it. only hearsay.
