I recently came across a 2003 Katana750 that is brand new and for sale at a dealership. I know the price for them new is $7300 but was wondering if anyone knew what a fair market price would be for this leftover. I'm sure as soon as I drive it off the lot it's going to depreciate. If anyone has advice or info on how to handle a deal like this please let me know. This dealer also has a 1996 Yamaha YZF750RH that is brand new. I'm tempted to make a move on this bike but I like the look of the Katana more.

I'm open to any suggestions, thanks.

but as he mentioned, as soon as you drive an older bike off the lot it goes down down down.....

use nada or kbb.com to check prices of older bikes for both trade in value and retail price. this helps give you a good idea of what it should be worth.

I still say get the brand new 1996 bike.
So I really like to know how you could have 7 year old bike just collecting dust in the stock room? I'd hope that if you did go this bike you'd have the dealer do a complete tune up and make sure the bike it running at peak perfection when you take owner ship. Seeing a Dyno plot wouldn't be out of the question IMHO either.
