Have you thought about shaving off a little bit of the gasket or flattening it a little bit before the install? Also, this may sound dumb, did you make sure your old gaskets were out of there first? I ask because I've done it before, not on a c90 but the principle is the same.

Many LC1500 (1998-2004) pipes are sold and applied to the C90. It requires a longer bolt. Do not shave off any of the new gasket material, get the right bolts. I recommend the stainless bolts from Gman. You need the long bolt kit for Suzuki Intruder 1500. Removing the old studs is an easy task, you will just need 8mm x 1.25 pitch nuts to remove them, and Gman includes those in his kit. Have fun with the change. You're going to hear it.

When removing old gasket material be sure you get the old copper ring that lays in the flange hole.

well gentelmen thanks for the advice . its off to the eye doctor soon!!!!!!!!!!! i only removed part of the gasket.when i pulled the pipes away from the cylinder head the gasket split half came with the pipe the other half stayed in the head and looked like the head. a little digging this morning and got the rest out .pipes bolted right up. now its off to the dealer for the dynatech power commander so the pipes stop turning cherry red.dont want to burn the valves......thanks again for the advice to double check.

did you have any problem with the pipes turning bright red right outside the head. if i hold the r p m s at about 2500 for 30 seconds the pipes turn red so i installed a dyna jet power commander.i purchased from the dealer and had mapped for those pipes ,i didnt mess with anything in the air box and they still turn red . im guessing the pipe itself is that thin maybe.

Your pipe walls are not too thin but your stealership is probably run by dumbazzes. You are most likely running way too lean and the next possibly consequence is engine damage. With the PC III you will most likely have to get the bike on a dyno which means more $$. Are you getting any pop or backfire on decel? This and your pipes glowing red would be a very good indication of running too lean. This is the exact reason, maps and required dyno, that I did not go with the PC III. Way too expensive. I went with the Bully Stage 3 offered here. Easy plug & play, excellent customer service, Gary rides our bikes and does the dyno himself. A no brainer for me.

Here is a chart provided by Cobra showing lean vs rich conditions and symptoms.

My advice, yank the PC III out, sell it on eBay and get the Bully.

the map was down loaded from cobra at the dealership. its averaging 25 degrees in the pocono`s now so there was no test ride yet. its still in garage. the reason i went with the pc III and the dealer is the warranty.they download the map from cobra and if anything goes wrong the warranty covers it.

I think you might find that most dealers won't do anything but PC III, I know my dealer won't. They had never heard of a Bully and did not know anything about Cobra. I have a couple of friends that have a PC III one likes it, he is quite the techie, and the other is completely lost. His mpg sucks, running way to rich on a 06' C90 and gets 33 mpg at best, and has no idea as to the process of downloading maps.

I originally had the Cobra fi2000r, sold and took a small loss, but after doing more research got the Bully Stage III. It is awesome!! I would not recommend anything else.

Cobra Exhaust

I just bought the Cobra Slashdowns and called Cobra about gaskets. They said buy OEM gaskets and use the bolts that came with the bike. I just installe the FI2000r today and will start on the pipes tomorrow. Corbra's number is (714) 692-8180, they were really helpful when I talked to them.
