Just wanted to say HI everyone! I just picked up this 2003 Marauder 800 a few of months ago. This is the first motorcycle I've ever owned and this thing's a blast!!!. However, I don't think I'm gonna be able to leave it (stock) alone. I recently installed a Memphis Shade windshield, but I'd like to give it a little more "sound" and a little more power as well.....any suggestions???

:welcomes: nice ride.

D&D makes some of the loudest pipes. Vance and Hince makes some good ones too but not as loud. Depends on what you're going for.

Thanks.....I'm looking for the "Harley" sound, just not something that will bust my ear drums on a long ride. I noticed Hard Krome makes a couple models as well as Vance & Hines and Cobra....which ones have the best sound???

Nice ride- congrats, and welcome to the board!
V & H pipes get my vote every time, as they sound loud when you roll on the throttle but do not offend at idle. They are high quality, with thick chrome, a good fit, and good welds, and will not blue instantly and rust out after a couple years like cheeper brands will. They have a distinctive, rich sound to them that is deep and full, not just loud. You will never catch me saying anything good about Cobra brand pipes.

A free-flowing K&N air filter is a must, as it does little good to only open up one side of the motor: if you open up the intake you can flow more air in as well as more air out. You will need to re-jet the carb to flow more fuel to match the increased air flow. But the three mods together will make the bike a lot more powerful, and it will sound sweet and run smooth.

Where in GA are you? I'm in Atlanta, and head up to ride in the North Georgia, North Carolina, or Tennessee mountains just about every weekend.

Thanks for the info! How would I know what size jet to put in the carb with a K&N and exhaust?

What about Hard Krome brand pipes...are they any good?

I live in Calhoun, which is about 15 minutes south of Dalton on I-75.
