How long have you been riding?

yeh its hard to keep it under 7000. I got 300 more miles till I can hit 10.

My new toy is the yellow/black model. Very beautiful color with metal flake: I really like the way it glows in the sunlight.


BTW: I'm not sure how my post got duplicated, or split, but if it can be merged that would be great. Til then, I guess I'll keep up with the two.

I thought since I was removing the tail-stack, I would/should replace it with some sort of shielding from 'road-stuff'.

isnt that stack annoying? It's so ugly. You dont need anything back there after you take it off. It looks so much cleaner without that dangling from there.

I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about.
I know for sure my bike doesn't have a back fender, there is a kind of truss-road soldered to the frame, and it looks great...
What am I missing?

Janis: There is a plastic 'stack' that bolts to my bike to provide a fender for rear deflection of objects leaving the rear tire, holds the license plate, and all rear lighting. It can be remove and streamlined with after-marke parts.

The piece you are referring to-- does it have grooves, or lines in it? Right in front of the rear tire?

Congrats on your new purchase! I've got the same only blue & white. Just had first service & having no problem keeping it under 11k rpms. Engine really revs around 9 & 10k.

Right now I got 753 on the tach. I LOVE MINE IN A MAJOR WAY 8) !

If so I wanted it removed before I went to pick up the bike from the bike-shop!
If you're talking about that, it's NOT a rear fender and it's not for rear deflection of object leaving the rear tire...at least I never thought it was.
It it's that you need no replacing...guaranteed.

You're right, it's not really for deflecting anything. They just call it a fender, hence "fender eliminator kits" that make everything nice and flush/integrated for the tail.

OK got it! Thank you sis!
Now I know I own a fender eliminator kit (and it sounds way better than the italian name for it, which translates something like 'hold plate'). This thing (I need it to actually hold the plate, but I remove it when I ride at the tracks) I've got is adjustable (different inclinations) and hosts little signals (removed the stock ones, front and rear).
When I get my new fairing painted I will post some pics of my friggin'new bike.
And no, I'm not hijacking this thread! 8) 8)
