Ok I have a question and want some honest opinons on this (like I expect anything but )

If you were a begninner and have your gear. Would you buy a new bike for your first or a used?

Lets say you were going to buy a 600 Kat. You found one used with around 4k miles on it and a couple years old. It is about 2K cheaper than a new one. Would you buy it or spend the money on a new one. Remember money is not a factor.

///The first bike isn't the last bike. Used never dropped with 4k miles? I'd do that over new in a heartbeat. That's barely broken in.

I went for the new bike. Just for the fact that I know for sure that the bike wasn't tiped over, plus the warrenty. That was also before I found this site. Lots of good knowledge here. I also bought one for the more inexpensive bikes out there new. I got the SV650 naked. total out the door was 6000.00 out the door.

Good luck in you decision.

w/ money no object I'd buy used. Learn on something you are not so emotionally attached to. enjoy the ride. drop the bike. Scratch the bike. have fun during the learning process. Really enjoy what you are doing instead of what you are riding. Lessons learned - give the old bike to a son/friend/daughter and buy whatever killer bike you desire
