Hey everyone-- I've been interested in bikes for awhile now, though I haven't actually ridden one yet. I've been browsing the forums, and found out a good way to learn is by taking the MSF course. I'm going to register for this asap. I also thought a good way to learn was by riding a dirt bike. Would this be a good idea? I know someone who would probably let me try. One last thing. I read a good bike to learn on is something small. I found this 1993 Suzuki GS500E.. though I don't know if the price is right. Hope to meet a lot of new people. Here's a link to the bike:

A few goes on a dirt bike will build up your bike control skills, but like Gixxerdale said, wear the right gear.
Get the proper training and don't run before you can walk.
Play safe.
