Going thru the MSS right now to fine tune my riding skills. Bought a 2001 Marauder as my starter Bike. Looking for tips on how to ride & Maintain her. Any suggestion are welcome. 1st time on a bike ever.... Need your Wisdom......

The first thing we need to know is exactly which model you have.
Zuki has played fast and loose with it's model NAMES, sometimes applying the same name to several different bikes.
Sometimes the US and other markets are different too in a given year.

as for riding. if there is an msf course ( or similar training class for your country) i highly recommend taking it. ( knowing roughly where you are we can point ya in the right direction)
pick up a copy of proficient motorcycling. and read it.
find someone to ride with.
its a carbed bike so let it warm up a bit before heading out
practice low speed turns and emergency stops ( find some cones and an empty parking lot for this)
stick to the neighborhood for a while before adding in some faster roads.
get a good helmet and some armor ( jacket gloves pants boots) and wear them

and pay attention to the other folks on the road. they're all out to get us.

its a carbed bike so let it warm up a bit before heading out

And don't be afraid to leave the choke partly ON until it runs smoothly without it.
A dose of a good carb cleaner in the gas every 3 months or so is highly recommended.

almost forgot. keep on top of chain maintenance. well above the required levels.

Back in post #4, you were given a link to a service manual.
Does it not say in there what the recommended oil IS ??

And I see that I haven't convinced you yet to use VZ800 instead of Maurader to describe your bike.

If it's water cooled, 10W30 should work; if air cooled, 10W40.
Just need to be sure it's motorcycle specific oil. Just any off the shelf car oil will NOT do.
