Hello all,

after an extended break from off-road riding and 10 years of high performance cars, I've had enough.

Just got my DA out of the way, which i'd been threatening through my last 3 cars, 2 girlfriends and 1 wife

Going to order a GSXR600 this evening and can't wait to get my mittens on it.

Anything i should know? the toss up was the 600RR or the the GSXR, but financially and on general conversation / research over the last week or 2 the suzi came out on top...

Hi Steve,

It isn't my first bike, it's my first bigger bike, but having read around a bit here, i know what you are saying.

I'm now 30 years old, and to be honest, the bike is as much about convenience as it is about enjoyment. I don't enjoy an upright ride, and i'm a big strong lad. I've no intention of thrashing the thing and know my limits (as does my white underwear).

However, having been spanked on underpowered bikes and in underpowered cars, they both scare me shitless, i'd rather have it there when i need it and I'll be spending plenty of time at the track learning about the thing.

Nice to meet you too.

Welcome. Your dirt riding will get you off to a good start. Just allow some room for learning. There are distinct differences.

Cheers Rowdy,

Someone much wiser than me once said... suicide is a cool enough hobby, but don't do it for a living.

I've spent enough of my teens and twenties breaking bones to take unnecessary risk into my 30s.. :D

Thanks for the advice.
